Good Faith Estimate
Your Right to Receive an Estimate of Expected Charges
Effective Date: August 2026
Under the federal No Surprises Act, individuals who do not have health insurance or who choose not to use their health insurance to pay for health care services generally have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of their care. Age To Age Counselling Inc. is committed to transparency regarding the cost of counselling, psychotherapy, couples and family services, and other applicable professional services.
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
If you are uninsured or are not using insurance to pay for your services, you may be entitled to receive a written Good Faith Estimate of the expected charges for scheduled services. The Good Faith Estimate is intended to help you understand the anticipated cost of your care before receiving services. When required by applicable law, the estimate will be provided within the required timeframe after services are scheduled or upon request.
What Your Estimate May Include
Mental health treatment is individualized, and it may not always be possible to determine in advance exactly how many sessions will be clinically appropriate. Your Good Faith Estimate is therefore an estimate and not a guarantee of the exact number, frequency, or duration of services you will receive. Your individualized Good Faith Estimate may include information such as:
The service or services reasonably expected to be provided
The expected fee for each service
The anticipated frequency of sessions, when reasonably known
The anticipated duration of treatment, when reasonably known
Other reasonably expected charges associated with your care
Changes in Treatment
The frequency, type, or duration of services may change based on your needs, treatment goals, clinical circumstances, clinician recommendations, or your decision regarding continued treatment.
If the expected scope or cost of services changes significantly, an updated Good Faith Estimate may be provided when required or appropriate. You may discuss fees and anticipated costs with your clinician or Age To Age Counselling Inc. at any time.
The Green Chair Project
Individuals receiving reduced-fee services through The Green Chair Project may also receive information regarding the expected cost of services. Green Chair Project services are subject to eligibility, clinician availability, location, clinical appropriateness, and applicable state requirements. Reduced-fee services may begin at $60 for a 50-minute session, depending on clinician availability and the type of service provided. Participation in The Green Chair Project does not guarantee a specific number of sessions, clinician assignment, duration of treatment, or treatment outcome.
If Your Bill Is Substantially Higher Than Your Estimate
Federal law provides a patient-provider dispute resolution process in certain circumstances when a bill from a provider is substantially higher than the amount listed on the applicable Good Faith Estimate. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate from a particular provider or facility, you may have the right to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process. There are time limits for initiating a dispute, so you should review your bill and Good Faith Estimate promptly. Information regarding the federal dispute-resolution process is available through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Keep Your Estimate
We encourage you to keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. Your estimate can help you:
Understand anticipated treatment costs
Discuss changes in services or fees
Compare your estimate with subsequent bills
Exercise applicable rights under federal law
Insurance
If you intend to use health insurance, benefits and coverage are determined by your insurance plan and are not guaranteed by Age To Age Counselling Inc. Clients are encouraged to contact their insurance company directly regarding eligibility, deductibles, copayments, reimbursement, out-of-network benefits, authorization requirements, and other coverage questions.
Questions About Fees or Your Estimate
We encourage you to ask questions about the cost of services before treatment begins and at any time during treatment. To request a Good Faith Estimate or ask questions regarding fees, please contact:

Important Notice
A Good Faith Estimate is an estimate of reasonably expected charges and does not require you to receive services from Age To Age Counselling Inc. Receiving a Good Faith Estimate, contacting our office, or requesting information does not by itself establish a therapist-client relationship.
